Two Girls One Shuck is a full amenity traveling oyster bar, serving raw and chargrilled oysters at “shellebrations” throughout New Orleans. The Queen Shuketeer of the Bywater neighborhood operation is Becky Wasden, who grew up in landlocked Utah. She moved to New Orleans about 20 years ago and had her first oyster at a backyard crawfish boil. Becky works closely with oyster growers and distributors throughout the Gulf South. The self-proclaimed oyster ambassador is a board member of Oyster South, a non-profit that focuses on building a community around Southern family oyster farms. She also works with the Auburn University Shellfish Lab in Dauphin Island, Alabama, assisting graduate students with oyster projects and research. Becky and her team of lady shuckers offer cold seafood and sides through a sister company, Chicks with Dips.
